Something else you may not know is that I have never been a fan of workout videos. I am sure you are asking the obvious question now - what am I doing reviewing and giving away Bob Harper's Ultimate Cardio Body?

Bob Harper, as everyone knows, has made quite a name for himself as one of the trainers on The Biggest Loser. While I don't personally like everything they do on The Biggest Loser, Bob has gained my respect as someone that knows what he is talking about when it comes to fitness and weight loss through watching him. Based on that respect I was interested in taking a look at The Ultimate Cardio Body.

The Ultimate Cardio Body, The Extreme Weight Loss Workout, is not a cheesy workout video which I have grown to expect. Bob takes you through the Extreme Cardio Challenge, an hour long cardio workout that will get anyone sweating. An additional shorter 10 Minute Glute Challenge is also available on the DVD using the same easy to follow instruction as in the Extreme Cardio Challenge.

If you have the desire to lose weight and build your cardio base I suggest you take a look at the Ultimate Cardio Body available online at www.mytrainerbob.com. Most diet books tell you what you have to do to lose weight and in many cases there is some extreme steps that need to be taken or strict rules to follow. I won't even get into the books that are just pushing a product.

Get Real And Stop Dieting is not one of those books. The author, Brett Blumenthal, is a WELCOA-Certified wellness expert and AFAA-Certified fitness instructor. I am not sure about you, but I am happy to see someone other than a doctor writing a book like this. The doctors are usually the ones that seem to have the books like I mentioned above.... not that I am opposed to doctors mind you :)

I have not had a chance to read the entire book yet, but from what I have read so far I have found it to be an easy read and really just about the basics that will seem like common sense when you read it. The problem is that even though a lot of it is common sense we tend to forget about these or think they are too easy.

The first part of the book are the "Get Real" Principles and cover things like keeping it whole, natural, and simple. Some of the other chapters in this part of the book are about focusing on fiber, lean proteins, and healthy fats all of which were things I learned during my 90 pound weight loss in 2007. My favorite chapter in this part of the book is the fifth chapter called Eat Small, Often, and Mindfully. The reason I say this is because this was one of the biggest keys for me in my weight loss, and is also something I need to get back to with a little more consistency.

The second part of the book is The "Get Real" Toolkit which consists of the following:

Tips on establishing proper portion size

Shopping smart at the grocery store

Making healthy substitutions in cooking

Advice about exercise, hydration, and stress reduction

Brett wraps it up with 40 pages of simple, satisfying recipes and even includes some desserts!

I have been provided with a copy of this book for one of you to win. If you would like to get your hands on it right away you can purchase a copy of Get Real And Stop Dieting from Amazon.com in both paperback as well as kindle. In the research I have done over the years I have come to the personal conclusion that Protein Supplements are for more than just getting big muscles and make the use of them a regular part of my routine.

I have used plenty of different brands and kinds of Protein Supplements over the years, some that I have liked, and some that were so disgusting that I took them back were I bought them and demanded my money back. I was using a brand that I have been very happy with lately, when I was contacted on behalf of BSN Suppliments with an opportunity to try their SYNTHA-6™ Product.

I am not sure how you tell without an extended use and very specific comparison tools how well a product like this stacks up against another similar products. I can, however, tell you that based on the protein content (20g), the amino acids (which all runners are looking for), and the other key ingredients that this will easily compare to the other products on the market that I have tried.

I know it shouldn't be one of the big deciding factors for supplements, but I have to say that SYNTHA-6 is by far the best tasting Protein Supplement I have ever tasted. I have tried mixing it both with water and milk, and every time I try the chocolate and vanilla I have been very happy with the smoothness and richness.

SYNTHA-6 is a multi-function protein supplement, comprised of BSN’s proprietary blend of six proteins for sustained protein absorption. BSN’s protein supplements distinguish themselves with the unmatched taste, quality, and well rounded nutrients for supporting protein synthesis and muscle growth. SYNTHA-6 is a powerful arrangement of complete proteins, branched chain amino acids, essential fatty acids, fiber, and complex carbohydrates. SYNTHA-6 is available as an easily mixable powder or in ready-to-drink (RTD) formats.

Key Benefits:

Blend of six proteins for sustained protein absorption

Supplements essential and non-essential amino acids

20g Protein; 7g of Carbohydrates; 3g of Healthy Fats

Low calorie meal replacement

Target Consumer:

Anyone seeking a delicious means of supplementing their diet with concentrated servings of protein, complex carbohydrates, and healthy fats

What are your thoughts? Do you use Protein Supplements after workouts or running?

If you hurry, I have a giveaway for a 5lb container of SYTHA-6 ending today on my 26.2 Quest blog. Hurry and enter to win today!
Alcohol is a killer of the working class. Self-delusion is the addiction of the middle class. While fat people delude themselves into believing they can continue starting over on Monday and eventually succeed, critical thinkers recognize this common psychological trap. The core belief is, “I can eat the same and get different results.”

Fit people force themselves to grow up emotionally and take control of their minds and bodies. A fat person on a diet who is only semi-committed to success is no different than a school kid who refuses to concentrate on his or her homework, or a child who goes kicking and screaming at the first sign of having to exert self-control.

Uncommitted dieters will use every self-deluding tool in the book to justify their lack of discipline and self-control. With the majority of the media and advertisers supporting their belief that diets don’t work, they feel vindicated and go right back to eating like a fat person. Critical thinkers know that saying diets don’t work is like saying exercise doesn’t work. It’s a ridiculous claim that’s perpetuated for the purpose of manipulating the masses to buy the latest pill, potion or wonder drug that will make them thin and healthy.

So the masses feel comfortable while they eat themselves into an early grave, and the producers of the cure-alls laugh all the way to the bank. It’s pathetic and borderline criminal. The fact is, we are all responsible for our own decisions, mindsets, and even our diet and exercise programs.

If the masses are foolish enough to believe every advertiser has their best interest at heart, they’re going to be manipulated their entire lives. Critical thinkers take full responsibility for their results, and rarely believe profit driven claims that make the difficult appear easy. Starting over (again) on Monday is an endless loop that keeps people fat forever. Monday is never coming. Today is the day to start down the road to better health and fitness.
The Livestream Q&A took place following the second episode on January 24th.

The question I asked was "What do you feel is the best way for friends or family to approach someone that is extremely obese concerning their health so they do not feel attacked, but rather understand it is out of love and care for them?" If you would like to see how they answered that question you can visit my previous post called A&E's Heavy Q&A - My Question Answered.
Imagine my surprise when just about a week ago I was pitched the following article from Structure House. I am not sure that I completely agree with their Refer-A-Friend online tool, but they share some good thoughts and tips and are trying to attack something that I obviously think is an important issue that needs dealt with.
DURHAM, N.C. (February 8, 2011) — The nation’s obesity epidemic is growing and impossible to ignore, however, most people struggle to discuss weight loss with a family member or friend. There is a fear of hurting someone you love or losing a friend. Compounding the problem, physicians oftentimes avoid telling a patient to lose weight in order to avoid a potentially negative or unwelcome discussion.

A study conducted during National Obesity Week 2010 revealed that one out of five women are afraid to tell a close friend she needs to lose weight, and only a small portion of those that are not afraid can muster the courage to actually have the conversation. Obesity is a serious health issue and the stigma preventing those from talking to a loved one, could do more harm than good.

“It is not easy to talk to a friend about weight management,” said Dr. Gerard J. Musante, obesity expert and founder of weight loss facility Structure House®. “When a loved one's health is at stake, your willingness to speak up and show how much you care could make all the difference in the world.”

Dr. Musante shares some basic tips to help start the conversation about living a healthier lifestyle.

Turn to the Internet for conversation-starters. Forward your friend a relevant article about weight loss or potential health risks. Email information about reputable weight loss treatment options that would be a good fit for his or her lifestyle.

Focus on the importance of your friend’s health and long life and avoid comments about vanity or appearance.

Offer to support your friend’s weight loss endeavors by planning times to exercise and prepare healthy meals together.

Consider setting reasonable milestones and reward your friend’s success with a shopping trip to buy new clothes.

Above all, be sensitive and caring toward your friend. This could be a dreaded and painful discussion for them.

“Many people do not know how to start a conversation about weight loss,” said Musante. “We recently launched a Refer-A-Friend option on the Structure House website to provide a compassionate means of opening the door to someone who needs help. They are likely aware of their condition and support from a trusted friend could put them back on the path toward a healthier and happier future.”

Structure House is a premier weight management treatment program in Durham, North Carolina. The online “Refer-A-Friend” feature is designed to help people start a life-changing conversation with someone about weight loss. A series of four informational postcards can be emailed anonymously, or with a personal message, including details about programs for weight loss, diabetes, surgery and a weekend retreat.

This was a live streaming video Q&A session that I was lucky enough to be asked to submit a question for. It didn't take me long to come up with a question as it was something that I had wondered about for some time. I was pleasantly surprised how they reacted to my question.

"What do you feel is the best way for friends or family to approach someone that is extremely obese concerning their health so they do not feel attacked, but rather understand it is out of love and care for them?"

Why not watch and see how they answered and subsequently talked about this question.
Tomorrow night there is a special feature immediately following the playing of this episode that you will not want to miss. More information about the live "Fanchat" can be found at the bottom of this post.

Rickywayne who is only 35 and already weighing in at well over 500 lbs blames himself for his mom's death and continued his obsession and dependence on food to help deal with the issues he was avoiding rather then dealing with them. Though his issues with food were magnified during this time, they actually started when he was in fifth grade. He got very creative coming up with ways to get more food like eating his bagged lunch on his way to school leaving open the option to get another lunch when the time came.
At just 28 years old and 288 lbs with a husband and kids she is at the time of life that she would much rather be playing with her kids, something she just doesn't have the energy for. Jessica, who has always been known as the fat girl, was taught as a child to always clean her plate which helped to lead to her issues with how to deal with food.

As in the previous episode they both started the first 30 days in the controlled environment. Both of them had issues with swimming that they hoped to get over by the time their 30 days were up, but that didn't keep them from eventually excelling in different areas.

Rickywayne who was having a lot of success with dropping weight had other areas that were causing him issues. Rickywayne was having difficulty making wise choices with what to eat, something that he still needed to learn more about

Tune in on Monday night on A&E at 10/9 central to see how they both overcome the struggles that put them in the place they were in at the beginning of the show. Rickywayne, whose bucket list includes starting a family and running a marathon someday, said it best when he said "I have an addiction, I will have it all of my life"
As popular as "The Biggest Loser" is and has been I think after watching just one episode that this is a much better approach to show what it really is like to be overweight, and what it really takes to make the lifestyle change that it is going to take if these individuals really want to change their lives for the better.

HEAVY - A&E’s docudrama Heavy follows twenty-two individuals facing extreme life-threatening health consequences as a result of their obesity. The one-hour series follows two participants per episode documenting their incredible transformations during a six month treatment program. read more

Tonight's episode starts with Tom & Jodi and gives a little bit of their background, how they got where they are today, and how they are currently living. They then are taken to a facility where they will spend the first 30 days of their journey where they will start..... the hardest part of their journey. It is an exciting time when they get to go home after the 30 days of learning what they need to do and how they should be eating. They have both experienced ups and downs with their emotions and a good beginning to their weight loss, but the real question is will they be able to maintain the momentum they have created or will they be forced back to the facility where they started.

The Season Premiere is tonight at 10/9c on A&E and I think it is a must see. It really shows what it is like to live and to lose weight for the extremely obese. It is not a game or a competition, but it is real life for millions of Americans. I believe this series will give many people hope, and not just dreams like other programs do.

I think this is a "don't miss" new series. The only downside to me is that it has the 10:00 pm time slot. In my very humble opinion sleep is very important to a healthier lifestyle, and by putting this on at 10:00 pm it is promoting just the opposite. So, take my advice and record it if you must, but give it a go for at least one episode and I think you will agree.

I need to get myself back completely on board like I was when I first lost this weight 4 years ago. I know what I need to do, I just can't get where I need to be for some reason.

I have multiple plans that I have put in motion one of them obviously being running. I have also started some core workouts using the Thrive90 Fitness program from Fit Marriage. The only thing I need to get on track with is my eating. It seems to be the one thing that I have always had the most difficulty with. Eating healthy, and stopping when my body has had enough.

I hope you will join me as I take on this battle once again. Even though my goal is not the 90 lbs I lost in 2007, but rather just to drop 15-20 lbs and tighten up in areas that have never been what I have wanted them to be.

Let me know where you are at and what plans you have in store. How are you doing two weeks into the new year?

If you haven't entered already you still have a little time. Stop by and enter to win the book "Mind Over Fat Matters"
Very few people have the self discipline to eat healthy while they are socializing with family and friends, especially over Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. How did you do? Did you overdo this past Holiday Season like so many other people did? Are you now in the same place as many others trying to look at ways to eat better, become more active, and shed some of those extra few pounds?

Sure I lost 90 lbs a few years ago, and sure I have run two marathons and now run nearly every day, but I too find myself eating more than I should at times, and eating foods that I shouldn't be putting in my body. I don't do resolutions, but as I start training for my next marathon I want to start eating better, both the types of food I eat and how much I eat.

As I train for my next marathon I will be outside a lot over the winter months, and if you are going to make the commitment to be more active, however that may look for you, you will probably also be getting outside more over the winter months. For those of you in the warmer climates this doesn't apply too well, but for those of us that have temperatures that drop down below 50 on a regular basis Dr. Lavinia Rodriguez from www.fatmatters.com has some great tips to get you out the door and to help you stay active when the weather tells you to stay inside:

Hibernating is just for the bears. When we’re cold, we tend to want to just curl up with a blanket and relax. The season is filled with some of the best-tasting snacks, from eggnog and chili to cookies and chocolate. But these comfort foods can quickly result in a bit of a winter bulge. As soon as the winter coats and sweaters come off, you’ll wish you had showed more restraint.

“Exercising in the cold weather not only burns fat while you’re exercising,” encourages Dr. Rodriguez, “it also motivates you to be active instead of being a couch potato. Keep in mind that every opportunity to move should be capitalized on. Even something as simple as going to the mall to shop for gifts can be exercise. Finding ways to fit exercise into your daily life is key!”

Turn up your internal heater. The long (well, not really so long) walk from the car to the gym seems almost unbearable in the blustery winter winds. And the thought of changing clothes in the chilly gym locker room, accompanied by the presence of running shorts, is almost too much to stomach.

“Don’t forget that exercise actually warms you up,” explains Dr. Rodriguez. “Think of your red cheeks and glistening forehead as an indicator that your body temperature is rising. Being inactive will only perpetuate the chilliness of the season.”

Maintain a glass-half-full mentality. In the dead of winter, the sunny days of summer may seem ages away. But soon enough you’ll be packing shorts and bathing suits for long, hot vacations. Just think about how much slimmer you’ll be when the weather warms up if you maintain a healthy lifestyle all year long. You’ll be beach body-ready long before Memorial Day.

“Summer is a big motivator for slimming down,” says Dr. Rodriguez, “but don’t wait to start slimming down in the summer months! Winter is actually a great time to experiment at the gym with new workout routines. Most people tend to quit working out in the cold weather, so take advantage of all the classes and equipment that’s usually reserved.”

Walk it out (snow boots optional!). If you take a trip to the mall or even a brisk walk around the neighborhood, don’t forget that every step counts. Yes, while going to the gym and engaging in rigorous exercise is great, it’s not always feasible. Start keeping count of your steps with a pedometer and challenge yourself to be more active. Ask for a pedometer this holiday season or even sneak and buy one for yourself!

“Wearing a pedometer motivates you to take more steps daily,” says Dr. Rodriguez. “Set a goal and gradually increase your steps to 10,000 per day if possible. Turning exercise into an enjoyable part of your day will greatly increase your odds of living a healthy lifestyle all year long.”

Welcome the winter wonderland. Think of all the fun winter activities you used to do as a kid—sledding, skiing, and ice skating, just to name a few. Who says you have to stop enjoying winter just because you’re an adult? Plan a weekend ski trip with your girlfriends or go caroling in your neighborhood. The options are endless for winter fun.

“Winter has a lot of special activities that you’re not able to do year-round,” says Dr. Rodriguez. “Think of all the winter traditions you can start or continue with your family and friends just by finding ways to have fun outside. If you’re having fun, it’s like you’re not exercising.”

“Motivating yourself in the winter is as simple as embracing the colder temperatures and using them to your advantage,” advises Dr. Rodriguez. “The key is to find fun and easy ways to stop the weather and shorter days of the season from being a deterrent to your healthy lifestyle.”

About the Author:

Dr. Lavinia Rodriguez is a clinical psychologist and an expert trained in treating eating issues and weight problems. For more than 30 years, she has observed how people set themselves up for failure through unrealistic diets and exercise programs, as well as through buying into out-and-out scams designed to take advantage of individuals who seriously want to improve their health and lives. She is concerned about people being misled regarding the most effective ways to lose and manage weight over a lifetime.

Over the years, Dr. Rodriguez has treated many people, has written articles on the subjects of eating disorders in particular and weight loss in general, and has written a book titled Mind Over Fat Matters: Conquering Psychological Barriers to Weight Management.

It is almost as if it is expected, imminent, or even a laughing matter, but it doesn't need to be any of these if we choose to make the right decisions.

If there is anything I have learned over the years since first losing the 90 lbs, it is that there are times we tend to let our guard down a little bit. For me that time was during the marathon training. I figured I was running over 40 miles a week and I needed the calories/fuel so I needed or was even entitled to the food I was eating. For others the holidays bring the time when they let down their guard only to be discouraged and down when the season comes to a close and the new year is upon us.

Following my first marathon last year, I gained some weight. I didn't gain a lot, but I gained more than I wanted to. I ate pretty much anything I wanted during the marathon training which was a mistake itself. Once the marathon was over I cut my mileage way back and the holidays were in full swing. I didn't cut my food intake back like I had my running and so the weight started to creep up on me. I got control of myself after the first of the year and then a year later I find myself again at that same place. I just finished my second marathon a few weeks back and so now my running is not what it was just three weeks ago. I am determined this year to not let the same thing happen to me so I am paying very close attention to how I am treating food and what my relationship is with it while the holidays are in full swing.

I say, lets not let the holidays happen to us, lets go into the holidays with a plan. The plan doesn't have to be to lose weight (although that is what my plan is) but the plan only needs to be to continue to be conscious of what we eat, and make wise choices.
I have had a lot of trouble getting back to where I need to be with eating and it is showing. I have been able to get back to running pretty good as seen in my other blog, but the eating has just not gotten back to where it needs to be.

I have known for some time what I needed to do, but have not been able to get myself to do that one simple thing. I need to stop drinking soda. Sure, I am drinking diet soda, but I am starting to believe that diet soda is even worse than the real thing.

I have been drinking a lot of soda, but trying to eat right. I think this is almost impossible. It doesn't matter how hard I try, I eat too much, and not the right things.

On Monday, April 13th, I made the choice that I was no longer going to ignore the obvious. I again gave up soda and have also cut out a lot of coffee. I don't think that coffee is my problem since I drink it black, but I just don't think I need all that extra caffeine. This also magically makes it easier for me to drink more water.

It has been a week now, and so far it has been so much easier to eat right and eat less. I am not yet ready to give results, but you can watch my Physics Diet daily weight to see how I am coming along.

Why not give it a try?

Tim Wilson - blog.2big.org - subscribe - followTim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4353628224502333487.post-59271490552718862672009-03-04T06:07:00.002-05:002009-03-04T06:19:58.595-05:00Up and down daysSome days are up, and some days are down.

If you have been reading my blog for any time you know that I previously lost over 90 lbs. You also will remember when I was injured back in June of 2008 which put me out of most any physical activity for almost 9 months.

During that 9 months I managed to eat good most of the time, but had good days and bad. My habits slowly got worse as the time went on. Turns out it is really difficult to eat right without any kind of exersize. I ended up putting 15 pounds back on during that time.

I have been back running now for about 2 months and things are going great. I am building mileage and starting to really feel like I am getting back into it. I have started to get better focus with my eating, but it has been really difficult to get back on track and stay on track.

I have to remember, this is a journey. One day at a time and I will get back where I was before.

Tim Wilson - blog.2big.org - subscribe - followTim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4353628224502333487.post-11860285516059941122009-02-21T14:06:00.004-05:002009-02-21T14:28:50.452-05:00Good things to eatI am always on the lookout for new things to try and new things to eat. Over the past two years along my journey I have done a lot of searching and have tried a lot of new things. I still have some types of foods that I really just cannot bring myself to eat.... no matter how healthy, but some things I have never eaten before has now become some of my favorites.

One of the things that I would never touch before is Egg Rolls. I know, with the crispy egg roll wrapper they are not on the list of most healthy things to eat, but they are better than a lot of things.... and if you have read much of my blog you will see I am a big fan of eating what I want, just trying to be careful with really bad stuff and too much of anything.

Convenience is the other thing that is hard to get when you are trying to eat healthy. I have found this to be oh so true over the past couple years.

Now, let me tell you about something really good.... and yes, they are Egg Rolls. Since starting my journey the frozen section of the market has not been one of the high traffic areas for us. There is just oh so much that is horrible for you in that section.

I was given the opportunity to try some frozen Egg Rolls by Kahiki. Like I said above, I like Egg Rolls now, but wasn't too sure of the fact that they were frozen. They are only between 70 and 100 calories for each Egg Roll, and are very tasty if I do say so myself. We tried all three varieties, the vegitable, chicken, and pork and shrimp. The outside of the Egg Roll stays very crispy when they are microwaved, and they taste really good. My wife and I both enjoyed these, however she said she really didn't care for the sauce that comes packaged with it. I am not a sauce person so I really can't tell you. My opinion is if the food is good enough by itself why do you need sauce?

I did some looking around and it looks like you can purchase these Kahiki Egg Rolls at any of your local grocery stores. They also have other items as well like fried rice and other main dishes. I may just have to give those a shot as well.

Tim Wilson - blog.2big.org

Tim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4353628224502333487.post-62976707280478044962009-02-16T08:27:00.003-05:002009-02-16T08:43:24.703-05:00Need more consistencyI am still struggling with consistency in getting back to the groove that I had before the injury. At that time it was simply a way of life and everything was going good. I was consistently losing weight even though it was slow because I was close to where I needed to be.

Through the lack of running and other exercise during the time I was healing I progressively lost focus on how I was eating. I never lost focus of the bigger goal, but I lost focus on the day to day goals. I am totally convinced more now than ever before that good eating habits and exercise go hand in hand. I am sure I have said this before, but I will say it again. I instinctively want to eat better, and it is easier to eat better when I am physically active.

All that being said, it has been quite difficult for me to get back at being consistent. My life is a bit more hectic and my stress levels are a lot higher at work and at home then they were the first time I took on this endeavor. I am starting to run quite a bit more, but am still nervous about too much weight lifting because the collar bone is not yet 100% healed.

I have been eating better, but have had more occasions where I simply blow it. I am still trying to figure out if these times that I blow it are more because I am not back in the groove or because of stress.

Are you a stress eater? I haven't previously considered myself a stress eater.... but I am starting to wonder.......

Tim Wilson - blog.2big.org - subscribe - followTim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4353628224502333487.post-74116901043375773722009-02-12T18:04:00.004-05:002009-02-12T20:53:50.565-05:00The Engine 2 Diet (with giveaway)Those of you that have been readers for sometime will know that I am not a fan of "Diets" or diet food, plans, or supplements. I am a fan of just one plan, the one thing that proved to be the tool that allowed me to get to where I am today..... A changed lifestyle, more specifically: eating less, eating better, and being more physically active.

That being the case, I am strongly against providing a presence for any products, books, write ups, or links to items that do not fit in the above mindset. I have turned down some of each of these, including paid links.

That being said, I have received a pre-release version of THE ENGINE 2 DIET book. I have to admit at first the title turned me off because of the word "Diet" but once reading more about the book I became more willing to give it a chance. I know by starting to understand more about it the book is based on a mostly plant based diet which I am not a fan of..... I like meat too much :) but I have started reading the book and will be better equipped to give my opinion in a couple weeks.

Here is some more information about the book:

When Rip Esselstyn and some of his fellow Engine 2 firefighters from Austin, TX realized that their cholesterol levels were higher than they'd like he decided to do something about it. He created THE ENGINE 2 DIET program and in 28-days everyone lost weight, lowered his cholesterol, and improved his overall health. Rip decided to do a larger study to prove the effectiveness of his plan--not just for firefighters but for everyone.

THE ENGINE 2 DIET is a lifestyle that begins with a 28-day program that will enable readers to lose weight, reduce the precursors to disease, and become physically fit. It's a clear-cut guide to eating a whole-food, nutrient-rich, mostly plant-based diet.

THE ENGINE 2 DIET also includes recipes, meal plans, grocery lists, cooking tips, and a firefighter-inspired exercise program to boost metabolism, build strength and endurance.

As a fireman Rip has helped people and saved lives, but with his Engine 2 Diet Plan he will help save lives on a much larger scale.

The Giveaway:

I have been given the opportunity to give you, my readers, a copy of this book. If only that was true. I have read many things over the years about steering free of free food. Free food is usually not the most healthy foods. If we think about the free foods we see so often I am sure you will all agree with me.... donuts, muffins, candy, chocolate, brownies, cookies..... you get the picture.

The other time we so often see free food is those wonderful lunches on the company. Now, you tell me, do you always order the salad, or the most healthy option on the menu? Sometimes? Maybe.... but all the time? Nope..... me either. Many times when free food is offered to a group of people what is it? Yup.... everyones favorite.... I would like to blame it on others because they use my favorite small plates and I have to use a bigger plate, but the truth is that has only happened once, and wasn't the reason I ate too much, it was because I took a few bites before dishing up my plate, and a few more as I was putting away the leftovers.

Progress is slow in the weight loss department, but with the recent re-addition of running I am sure my body is going through a lot of changes that don't always reflect as we want them to on the scale.

If you are hitting my blog for the first time, just starting your journey, or if you just haven't seen me "before" you need to check out my original post of where I started. If nothing else it can give you hope and show you that it can be done.

No longer 2 Big!

Tim Wilson - blog.2big.org
Tim Wilsonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09172993341866649612noreply@blogger.com6
